An electrical device provided with a touch panel detects the contact point between the user's finger and the touch panel and identifies a contact region including the detected contact point if touch-operated by the user. The electrical device calculates the area of the identified contact region and reads the correction value stored in a correction value DB in association with the calculated area. The electrical device determines the display mode of a cursor which should be displayed on the touch panel according to the shape of the identified contact region and the correction value read from the correction value DB. The electrical device displays the cursor in the determined display mode on a display section.
