摘要 <p>A damping mechanism (1) generates a damping force against movement of fluid between a first fluid chamber (R1) and a second fluid chamber (R2) of a fluid pressure shock absorber.  The damping mechanism (1) is provided with a partition member (2) which defines the first fluid chamber (R1) and the second fluid chamber (R2), and also with chokes (4) which are arranged next to each other and penetrate through the partition member (2) to allow the first fluid chamber (R1) and the second fluid chamber (R2) to communicate with each other.  Preferably, leaf valves (8, 9) having valve bodies each comprising a single leaf are provided to the openings of the chokes (4).  The chokes (4) generate a damping force which is substantially proportional to the speed of the fluid passing through the chokes (4), and this allows the damping mechanism (1) to exhibit linear damping force characteristics despite the fact that the damping mechanism (1) is configured to be simple and compact.</p>
