<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower a resolution only in ranges other than a necessary range without lowering a resolution of the necessary range, to reduce a total amount of data, and to simplify a method of designating a range required by a user. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An imaging device including an imaging device body 100 taking an image of video picture data and a remote controller 101 with a finder function has a range setting means setting a range enhancing a resolution in the video picture data by a predetermined detection function, a range designation means arbitrarily designating a range enhancing a resolution in the video picture data transmitted to the remote controller 101, and a range determining portion 105 determining a range in which a resolution is enhanced and a range in which a resolution is made lower than the enhanced resolution in the video picture data based on the set range and the designated range. Data processed by image processors (106, 107, and 108) performing image processing according to the determination of the range determining portion 105 is transmitted to the remote controller 101.
