<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate preparing a sample of extremely fine fibers such as a nanofiber or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The leading ends of plant needles 57 and 58 are brought to a close contact state on a slider mechanism while the centers of the plant needles 57 and 58 almost coincide with each other. A guide wire is allowed to pierce through an upper holder 108, the plant needles 57 and 58 and a lower holder 109. Thereafter, the leading end of a sample fiber is adhered to one end of the guide wire and the guide wire is pulled to allow the sample fiber to pierce. The sample fiber is adhered to the respective leading ends of the plant needles 57 and 58, and the guide wire and the unnecessary sample fiber are cut to be removed. A holding device, to which the sample fiber is attached and the holders are connected by a holder connector, is detached from the slider mechanism 51 to be mounted on testing apparatus.
