[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In a system, a sub-lance equipped with a probe is moved downward by a drive device controlled by a control device, the sub-lance is stopped while a portion to be immersed of the probe is immersed in molten metal, a measuring element of the molten metal is measured by a measuring means provided in the probe, and a slag sample is obtained by a molten slag obtaining means. A metal detection sensor (27) for detecting the level (ML) of the molten metal is provided in a portion to be immersed (23), and a stop position determining means (31) and a stop signal outputting means (32) are provided between the sensor (27) and a control device (18). When the level (ML) is detected by the metal detection sensor (27), the downward movement duration (Tx) of the sub-lance is determined by the stop position determining means (31), and when the upper end (U) of the portion to be immersed (23) reaches the level (ML), a stop signal is outputted from the stop signal outputting means (32).
