摘要 <p>Disclosed is a novel method for manufacturing chlorine by oxidation of hydrogen chloride, whereby impurities other than hydrogen chloride in the starting material gas can be removed and unreacted hydrogen chloride after the oxidation reaction can be efficiently recovered. The chlorine manufacturing method is characterized by including: (1) an oxidation step wherein the hydrogen chloride in a starting material gas which contains hydrogen chloride and impurities is oxidized with an oxygen-containing gas, obtaining a gas containing chlorine, water, unreacted hydrogen chloride, and unreacted oxygen; (2) an absorption step wherein the gas containing chlorine, water, unreacted hydrogen chloride, and unreacted oxygen, obtained in the oxidation step, is brought into contact with an absorbing solution comprised of water or aqueous hydrochloric acid, or is cooled, thus recovering the unreacted hydrogen chloride as a solution having hydrogen chloride and water as the primary components, and obtaining a gas having chlorine and unreacted oxygen as the primary components; and (3) a diffusion step wherein the solution obtained in the absorption step is distilled, obtaining a gas containing hydrogen chloride as the primary component. This method is further characterized in that a gas containing 5-50 vol% of water, which is the gas containing hydrogen chloride as the primary component that is obtained in the diffusion step, is recovered and mixed with the starting material gas.</p>
