The tongs (10) have a punching die (32) axially and movably mounted on a bracket (12) and interacting with a punching tool (44) that is retained in the bracket. A driver device is provided at another bracket (14), and moves in a direction of the punching tool while pivoting a grip region (18) together with the punching die. The former bracket consists of a grip part (20) with the grip region and a bearing surface for the punching die and a bow-shaped head part (22). The bow-shaped head part is replaced with another bow-shaped head part for adaptation to a shape of a sheet metal part.
