PURPOSE: An array substrate for an electrophoretic display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to shorten a one time mask process, thereby improving product productivity. CONSTITUTION: A first storage electrode(105) has an area larger than 1/2 of a pixel area. A first passivation layer has a first thickness made of an insulating material. The first passivation layer corresponds to gate and data lines(107,118) and a thin film transistor. A pixel electrode(140) contacts a drain electrode on the first passivation layer. The pixel electrode is overlapped with a gate line and a data line connected to the pixel area and the thin film transistor.
