PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator hoisting motor capable of improving the space factor of a coil wire. SOLUTION: The elevator hoisting motor includes a rotor 5 having permanent magnets 6 arranged on the outer circumferential surface thereupon, a stator 7 arranged on the outside of the rotor 5, a plurality of teeth 9 arranged in parallel with each other projecting from the inner circumferential surface of the stator 7 to the permanent magnets 6 side, and a first and second coils 20, 21 wires concentratedly wound around the teeth 9. The first coil wire 20 is wound so as to surround the outside surfaces of the teeth 9, forming a layer over the space between the stator 7 side of outside surface of the teeth 9 and the rotor 5 side. The second coil wire 21 is wound in the same direction as the first coil wire 20, continuously along the recess formed on the adjacent winding part outside of the first coil wire 20 layer, forming a layer over the space between the stator 7 side and the rotor 5 side outside the first coil wire 20 layer.
