METHOD FOR PRODUCING COATED PAPER AND COATED PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coated paper having excellent smoothness, dark and bright unevenness of white color (white paper feeling unevenness) and printability on the surface of the coated paper and excellent in coatability while increasing the coating amount and enlarging the range of coating amount control in the method for coating and forming a pigment coated layer of the coated paper by using a rod coating method. SOLUTION: The method for producing the coated paper by forming one or more coated layers on a base paper layer by coating a coating liquid containing a pigment and a binder as main components at least on one surface of the base paper, wherein at least one or more coated layers are coated by the rod coating method uses a rod holder-supporting plate 7 having flexibility. The rod holder-supporting plate 7 preferably has a Young's modulus of≥7.0×104N/mm2of the material, a thickness of≥0.3 mm and≤1.5 mm, and a blade extension of≥2 mm and≤25 mm.
