PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the easy installation and placement of a support pole of a carport for securing the wind pressure resistance performance and load-carrying performance of a cantilever roof by supporting the cantilever roof with its tip. SOLUTION: Connecting metal fittings 26 are installed in a hollow pole member 2 at the upper part of the support pole A, and adjustment bolts 27 are screwed to a pair of up-and-down nuts of the connecting metal fittings, respectively. Then bolt tips of the adjustment bolts 27 are inserted into a plurality of adjustment holes 32 which are arranged in series on the bottom wall of a concave groove 31 of a lower hollow pole member 3 for adjusting the length of the support pole A. Since an arrangement interval between the pair of up-and-down nuts are made 4 cm while the adjustment holes 32 are formed in a penetrating state in 20 places with a 2 cm pitch, the amount of adjustment of the support pole A can be made as small as possible in each 2 cm. Also, even if a difference in dimension is caused, it can be absorbed by the roof which swings up and down. Since the adjustment range is 38 cm, the support pole can be used as a common member for the carport 1 having different projection widths of the cantilever roof 14 which is projected from a strut 11 at the same angle.
