PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment member that can be easily detected even when inserted into a pocket or a folded part during processing to add a value to clothing, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: In the attachment member including a locking part formed in the end of a long material made of a flexible material, metal powders are mixed in at least a portion thereof. The method for using the same includes: providing a locking member in the end of the attachment member made of the long material; forming a loop by fixing the locking member to use it for suspending a clothing tag; and checking, after processing in the clothing, the presence of the residual of the attachment member by a metal detector.
