<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of restraining discharge generated between an electron source substrate and a light-emitter substrate as well as discharge generated between metal backs. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The light-emitter substrate is provided with a substrate, a plurality of light-emitting members arranged on the substrate, and a plurality of metal backs arrayed in two dimension, covering the above plurality of light-emitting members. The metal backs of even rows and those of odd rows are arranged shifted from each other in a row direction, those of the even rows at the same columns connected with each other through resistive elements, and those of the odd rows at the same columns connected with each other through resistive elements.
