<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ferritic stainless steel sheet stably having high elongation without reducing C, N, P, and reducing Ti addition quantity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A steel slab containing, by mass, 0.005-0.015% C, 0.005-0.015% N, 0.025-0.050% P, 16.0-19.5% Cr and further Ti in the range of 0.20-0.40% and satisfying Ti≥15×(C+N) and Ti×P×10<SP>4</SP>≥70, is subjected to a homogenizing heat treatment under a condition at 1,050-1,300°C for ≤50 hr and satisfying expression: T≥-100×log×t+14,000×√(Ti×P), (wherein, T: homogenizing temperature (°C), t: homogenizing time (hr), and Ti, P represent respective element contents (%)), and thereafter, the steel slab is subjected to hot rolling.
