<p>A wake duct for a vessel is a duct system used for communicating the midship flow field with the stern flow field. The water inlet (1) of the wake duct is located on the board or bottom (5) of the midship. The water outlet (3) of the wake duct is located on the board, end surface or bottom (6) of the stern, or the outlet part (4) of said wake duct projects from the board, end surface or bottom (6) of the stern. The middle portion of the wake duct is mounted in the interior of the vessel. The wake duct can improve and optimize the flow field of a vessel and its propulsion system, and also decrease vessel wave resistance, thereby increasing hull and propulsion efficiency.</p> |
