The invention relates to the production of long-length metal products, in particular, to open-section box-type girders and to products made of said girder, i.e. to uprights for collapsible, mainly pallet, racks. The rack upright is made of the box-type girder that has a base (1) and sidewalls (2) adjacent thereto. A longitudinally oriented groove (3) is made on the base (1). Longitudinally oriented corrugations are made on the sidewalls (2). The edges of the sidewalls are flanged. The base and sidewalls are perforated. The width of the sidewalls (2) is at least 1.5 times greater than width of the base (1). A W-shaped truncated corrugation is made on each of the sidewalls. The group of inventions has the technical result of increasing the stability of the rack which is provided with the upright made of the box-type girder.
