A video display device and a method of correcting afterimage which solve the problem that an image quality is degraded. A removal section (2) removes DC components from a video signal received by an input terminal (1). An integration section (3) generating an integrated signal by integrating the video signal from which the DC components are removed by the removal section (2). A subtraction section (4) subtracts the integrated signal generated by the integration section (3) from the video signal received by the input terminal (1).
