Provided is a method for manufacturing fluorine-containing polymer particles which restricts formation of minute particles. The for fluorine-containing polymer particles has (i) a step for preparing a solution or a dispersion by dissolving or dispersing a fluorine-containing polymer (A) in a solvent (B), the step satisfying the requirements that the solvent (B) contain a good solvent (B2) such that the degree of swelling of the fluorine-containing polymer (A) exceeds 50% and that the degree of swelling (SB) due to the solvent (B) be 50-1200%, and (ii) a step for forming fluorine-containing polymer (A) particles by mixing the solution or the dispersion of the fluorine-containing polymer (A) with a solvent (C), the step satisfying the requirements that the solvent (C) contain a poor solvent (C1) such that the degree of swelling is 50% or less, that the degree of swelling (SBC) due to a mixed solvent (BC) comprising the solvent (B) and the solvent (C) be 0-100%, that the ratio (WC/WB) between the mass (WC) of the solvent (C) and the mass (WB) of the solvent (B) be 1-5, and that SBC/SB 0.5 or less.
