Disclosed is a membrane unit that is configured with multiple membrane modules. Water catchment cases (36a) of each of the adjoining membrane module are linked via a flow-through part (43a), the flow-through part (43a) opens into the water catchment case (36a) of one of the adjoining membrane modules and into the water catchment case (36a) of the other membrane module, the flow-through part (43a) is provided with a capturing member (48) which captures solid contents in a liquid to be treated which flows from a damaged location through the flow-through part (43a), and the capturing member (48) becomes clogged by the captured solid contents and blocks the flow-through part (43a).
