<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aneurysm embolization device capable of easily and securely embolizing an aneurysm according to the region where the aneurysm is developed, the neck shape of the aneurysm and the size thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The aneurysm embolization device at least includes a bag-shaped balloon canopy part 1 to be expanded and retained after inserted into the aneurysm in a blood vessel, and a balloon plane part 2 disposed in an opening 11 of the balloon canopy part for covering an opening of the aneurysm. The balloon plane part has a hole 12 communicating with the inside of the balloon canopy part. The aneurysm embolization device with the structure is housed inside a lumen of a protecting outer barrel member composed of a flexible long-length body having the lumen inside, and after disposing the distal end of the protecting outer barrel member at a desired position, the aneurysm embolization device is discharged. The aneurysm embolization device discharged from the distal end of the protecting outer barrel member is unfolded in such a way that the balloon canopy part is disposed at the desired position and that the desired position is covered with the balloon plane part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
