<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion compensator, a transmitter and a method of distortion compensation, which can effectively reduce power consumption and heat generation and controls the sizes of apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: The distortion compensator for reducing the levels of distortion components included in output signals based on input signals and output signals of an amplifier has a prior stage compensation portion to calculate a compensation value for compensating the amplifier based on a first digital signal and a distortion characteristic value of the amplifier and multiply the first digital signal by the compensation value, a D/A conversion portion to convert a multiplication result from the prior stage compensation portion into an analog signal and supply it to the amplifier, an A/D conversion portion to convert the output signal from the amplifier into a second digital signal, a comparison portion to calculate the distortion characteristic value of the amplifier based on the first digital signal and the second digital signal and supply it to the prior stage compensation portion, and a rate control portion to control the sampling speed of the A/D conversion portion based on the first digital signal and the second digital signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
