PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gap winding motor wherein reduction of hours of winding work, enhancement of reliability, reduction of a cost, and the like are enabled. SOLUTION: A spacer 14 in which a connecting wire 11 of an air-core coil 10 wound with a single continuous stroke is housed is placed between both split cores 1a, 1b obtained by dividing a stator core 1 into two in the direction of the motor axis. The spacer 14 includes a holding hole 15 in which the connecting wire 11 of the air-core coil 10 is housed. A cut 16 widened from the holding hole 15 to an end portion is provided so that the spacer 14 is inserted into the connecting wire 11 after winding work. In case of polyphase coil, a number of the spacers 14 equivalent to the number of phases are stacked in the axial direction and placed so that they are offset in the circumferential direction. Thus the spacer includes functions of positioning and insulating the overlapping connecting wires 11 in addition to the functions of spacer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
