METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTIMATING PHASE NOISE IN AN OFDM TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

A method for estimating phase noise in an OFDM transmission system is provided. The method comprises the steps of receiving (S301 ) an OFDM symbol and transforming (S302) the OFDM symbol from time domain to frequency domain; extracting (S303) at least one service information symbols from the OFDM symbol; estimating (S304) reference service information symbols of the extracted service information signals; and determining (S305) a phase noise representative value as a function of correlation between the extracted information symbols and the estimated reference service information signals.
