FLAME RETARDANT THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: A flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition is provided to secure the stability for the fire by using a brominated diphenyl ethanol compound, and to improve the commercial availability and the heat resistance of the composition. CONSTITUTION: A flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition contains the following: 20~90 parts of rubber-reinforced polystyrene resin by weight; 10~80 parts of polyphenylene oxide resin by weight; and 0.01~30 parts of brominated diphenyl ethanol compound by weight. The rubber-reinforced polystyrene resin is a polymer containing 1~30wt% of rubber elastomer, and 70~99wt% of aromatic vinyl monomer. The polyphenylene oxide resin is poly(2,6-dimethyl,1,4-phenylene)ether.
