PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely prevent leakage of personal information by properly performing backup and deletion of data in a mobile terminal when the mobile terminal is lost or stolen. SOLUTION: In a system for preventing information leakage of the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal 30 counts the number of times of erroneous input of an identification number, encrypts data stored in itself using an encrypting key obtained from a control device 10 when the number of times of erroneous input exceeds a threshold, and as well suspends general functions other than particular functions necessary for searching the mobile terminal 30. Next, according to a data transmission instruction and a data deletion instruction that are sent from the control device 10, the mobile terminal 30 transmits the encrypted data to a storage device 20 to be stored, and deletes the data stored in the terminal 30 as well. At this time, the terminal 30 transmits the encrypted data to the storage device 20 one by one according to priority specified beforehand.
