<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding strap for electrogas arc welding, capable of discharging a sufficient amount of molten slag and suitably avoiding problems such as unstability of an arc or spattering of slag. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding strap is composed of: a curved concave 2, whose surface opposing a base material forms a curved concave surface; two sliding edges 3a, 3b, comprising flat vertical surfaces, which are formed respectively at both right and left sides of the curved concave with predetermined widths; and a notched part 4 for forming a gap with a predetermined width between the surface of the base material and the vertical surface. An opening 5 for feeding a shield gas forward is formed in the vicinity of the upper end of the curved concave 2.
