<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dressing gear facilitating truing grinding even for a small module, and also to provide a method for dressing with the dressing gear. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The dressing gear, coated with diamond particles or CBN particles on the face of a gear, has a snaggletoothed structure in which the total number of teeth is even and a half of the total number of teeth are arranged one tooth for each two teeth and is subjected to truing grinding by a diamond wheel. With the dressing gear engaged with a geared grinding stone, all gears of the geared grinding stone are dressed, using a synchronous system which engages and entrains a tool spindle and a work spindle by electric position control.
