<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomously traveling seedling transplanter which transplants pot seedlings such as vegetable seedlings into a ridge while autonomously traveling, reverses when arriving at the terminal end of the ridge while traveling on the ridge, moves to the adjacent ridge, and continues the transplantation of the seedlings. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The autonomously traveling seedling transplanter includes a ridge sensor 28 provided at the bottom of the traveling machine body 13 for detecting the ridge U in contact with the top surface of the ridge U. The autonomously traveling seedling transplanter is configured so that the control over U-turn is started when the ridge sensor 28 detects the terminal end of the ridge U and the control is performed so as to move to the adjacent ridge U.
