PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifuge whose operativity is improved by enabling easy attachment and detachment of the rotor cover to and from the rotor body with one hand. SOLUTION: The centrifuge includes the rotor body 21 rotated by a motor 10 and holding a sample and the rotor cover 24 covering the opening of the rotor body 21. Protrusions 22 and 23 protruding upward are formed near the center of rotation in the rotor body 21, and a through-hole penetrating the protrusions is formed near the center of rotation in the rotor cover 24. Two or more mass members 25 and 26 distributing mass asymmetrically relative to the rotation shaft 11 are arranged and held by a guide member 22 so that the mass members do not shift in the axial and rotational directions relative to the rotor cover 24. When the rotor rotates, the centers of gravity of the mass members are moved toward the outer periphery by the centrifugal force so that the through-hole and the protrusions come into strong contact with one anther, making the rotor cover 24 held firmly by the rotor 21.
