<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when an electric surgical knife movement detection circuit detects that an electric surgical knife moves, communication of a camera module is always stopped, but normal image acquisition of the camera module is not affected even when the electric surgical knife moves, and because control for communication of the camera module is excessive, so that the communication of the camera module is unnecessarily stopped even though the normal image acquisiton is not adversely affected. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processor is provided with an AFE (Analog Front End) 22 for digitizing an image signal obtained by an imaging element 11 and a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 23 for communicating with the AFE and performing image processing to a digital image signal by the AFE. The DSP is provided with: a first communication circuit 26 for communicating with the AFE and stopping communication when a communication prohibition signal is input; an image noise detection circuit 50 for detecting an image noise superimposed on the digital image signal; and a communication control circuit 53 for giving the communication prohibition signal to the first communication circuit when the image noise exceeds a prescribed threshold.
