<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MoSi<SB>2</SB>powder for effectively preventing such a pest phenomenon (pulverization phenomenon) that simultaneous oxidization of Mo and Si takes place within the range of 573-873°K and further, evaporation reduction of molybdenum oxide is involved, a method for producing the same, a heating element using the powder, and a method for producing the heating element. <P>SOLUTION: An MoSi<SB>2</SB>powder is washed with an oxidizing acid or an acid containing an oxidizer. Thereby, the MoSi<SB>2</SB>powder having a specific surface area of ≥0.2 m<SP>2</SP>/g and an oxidized film on its surface, and containing oxygen in an amount of ≥2,000 ppm is obtained. Further, the heating element containing, as a main component, the MoSi<SB>2</SB>powder effectively preventing the pest phenomenon (pulverization phenomenon) is obtained using the MoSi<SB>2</SB>powder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
