<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress extreme delay of expansion of a center expansion part compared to upper and lower both expansion parts, and to prevent the chest of an occupant from being excessively pressed in an expansion initial stage of an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: An outer bag 30 is partitioned into three expansion parts vertically, that is, the upper expansion part EU, the center expansion part EC and the lower expansion part EL, and an inner bag 70 is disposed over nearly the whole region in the center expansion part EC. A substantially annular thickness regulating part 65 is disposed in the inner bag 70, and the inner bag 70 is partitioned into an outer peripheral side part 67 around the thickness regulating part 65, and an inner peripheral side part 68 surrounded by the thickness regulating part 65. A communication passage 69 communicating the outer peripheral side part 67 and the inner peripheral side part 68 is provided in a part of the thickness regulating part 65, and an intermediate part opening OC for guiding expansion gas flowing into the inner peripheral side part 68 from the outer peripheral side part 67 through the communication passage 69 into the center expansion part EC is provided in the inner peripheral side part 68. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
