PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of FFS (Fringe Field Switching) mode which makes a film-forming structure, which is formed on a substrate, simple, and is manufactured at a lower cost than a conventional one, while it has moisture resistance equivalent to that of a conventional one, and hardly causes a burn-in phenomenon; and to provide a method for manufacturing the device concerned. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 includes no passivation film, and the channel area CR of a TFT is directly covered with an interlayer resin film 14. A common electrode 17; a second insulating film 18 formed on the whole surface of the interlayer resin film 14 including the common electrode 17; and pixel electrodes 21 which are formed on the second insulating film 18 and in which a plurality of slits 20 are formed for each area partitioned by scanning lines 12 and signal lines; are formed on the surface of the interlayer resin film 14. The channel area CR of the TFT and electrodes (S, D) are covered at least with the interlayer resin film 14 and the second insulating film 18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
