<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the density of a fixed image and stably provide a target image quality, by suppressing conveyance flopping itself of a recording medium without requiring a means for detecting the conveyance flopping of the recording medium after fixing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This image forming device includes a density sensor 54 for detecting the density of an image formed on a surface of paper YS conveyed along a conveyance passage, a light shielding guide 81 that is arranged near the density sensor and suppresses displacement of the paper YS in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface, and a controlling means for correcting an image forming condition based on the density of the image detected by the density sensor.
