<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overvoltage protection component with a high effect of protecting an electronic equipment from overvoltage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The overvoltage protection component is provided with an overvoltage protecting part 21 having a first discharge electrode 15, a second discharge electrode 18 and a plurality of insulating layers 14, 16, 19 laminated and with the first discharge electrode 15 and the second discharge electrode 18 formed opposed to each other via a space 20, a capacitor part 13 formed by alternately laminating first internal electrodes 12a, 12b and second internal electrodes 12c, 12d via dielectric sheets 11, a first terminal electrode 22 electrically connecting the first discharge electrode 15 and the first internal electrodes 12a, 12b, and a second terminal electrodes 23 electrically connecting the second discharge electrode 18 and the second internal electrodes 12c, 12d.
