PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver coating material for a movable contact component wherein a silver layer on the surface is not peeled off in spite of using under an environment where switching is repeated and with excellent corrosive resistance under an environment influenced by sweat and a salt content, and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the silver coating material for a movable contact component wherein a ground layer made of either nickel, nickel alloy, cobalt, or cobalt alloy is coated on a metal base body formed of copper, copper alloy, iron, or iron alloy and a middle layer made of copper or copper alloy is coated on the ground layer and the outermost surface layer made of silver or silver alloy is formed on the middle layer and processing of projection shapes is partially applied at least, an arithmetic mean roughness Ra of the metal base body is 0.001-0.2μm, and an arithmetic mean roughness Ra at a stage after coating the middle layer formed on an upper layer is 0.001-0.1μm.
