The tool has a cutter for edge of a clamped workpiece along a main intersection line (29) under separation of a waste piece. A dropping cutting edge (22) comprises a distance to the main intersection line. A cutting insert (16) comprising an auxiliary cutting edge (37) that projects opposite to the cutting edge around a path difference (38) and runs along a dropping intersection line (31) is arranged in the intersection line. The insert is moved against a force of a spring (19) by an upper tool part under decreasing of the path difference.
