<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently giving information for a distance between a vehicle and a portable radio unit and the condition of the vehicle to the vehicle itself and the portable radio unit. <P>SOLUTION: A bicycle 650 owned by a user B can be communicated with a radio key 630 owned by a user A when a travel detecting mean 653 determines that it is not parked. When it is communicated with the radio key 630 owned by the user A, a computing means 655 finds a distance between the bicycle 650 owned by the user B and the radio key 630 owned by the user A following periodical authentication communication.
