<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of decompressing both of a transport stream signal and a program stream signal, and to provide an apparatus for recording a signal reproduced from a disk medium into a tape medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of decompressing a transport stream, a clock signal generated through the use of a reference signal included in the transport stream is employed, and in the case of decompressing a program stream, a stable clock signal is employed.
