<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when steering operation is simply performed in automatic belt centering utilizing the balance of frictional force, temporal change of stretched attitude is increased which causes main scanning direction color misregistration. <P>SOLUTION: In the automatic centering utilizing the balance of frictional force, sliding members at both ends are tapered, and the degree of dependency on a coefficient of friction is reduced, to provide the following two automatic centering modes; for a comparatively low disturbance such that an approach amount of a belt member is a certain fixed amount or less, centering is performed by the tapered shape without causing a steering angle; and for a comparatively high disturbance exceeding a certain amount, a steering angle is used for centering. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
