PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device which improves operability and which is advantageous when obtaining to which part of vehicle periphery a selected image corresponds. SOLUTION: The vehicle periphery monitoring device 10 includes a plurality of cameras 12, 14, 16 and 18, an ECU 20, a display device 22, or the like. A bird's-eye image generating means 32 generates a bird's-eye image by combining viewpoint conversion images obtained by performing viewpoint conversion processing of picked-up images obtained by the respective cameras. A touch display control means 36 displays a picked-up image of a camera corresponding to a touched touch area as a selected image Ps on a display screen 2802 by the fact that the touch area of a touch panel 30 of the display device 22 is touched, and displays the fact that the touch area is touched, on the touch area for a defined period of time.
