<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel estimation method and apparatus in mobile communication system having dispersed pilot. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This channel estimation method and apparatus includes an entire band channel estimation unit for performing channel estimation on an entire frequency band and an edge channel estimation unit for performing channel estimation on an edge region. By this channel estimation method and apparatus, the gating process of the entire band channel estimation unit and the gating process of the edge channel estimation unit are separately performed, and thereby a channel frequency response is more accurately calculated even in an edge region.
