PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable elevator device for preventing its lifting movement or the lowering movement, when a door causes the lifting movement or the lowering movement still in an opening state by the cause such as failure or an erroneous command of a braking device, when a car of an elevator stops at a story floor level. SOLUTION: This elevator device 100 has the car 2, a counterweight 7, a rope 8 and a hoisting machine 9, and includes a car side door 4 openably-closably arranged in the opening of the car 2, and a landing hall side door 6 arranged in the story floor doorway of a hoistway 1 and opening-closing when the car 2 lands on a floor. The hoistway 1 is provided with a door opening travel preventive means 5 for not interfering in a state of closing the car side door 4 in a state of stopping the car 2 on the story floor level and preventing the lifting or lowering of the car 2 by abutting on the car side door 4 in a state of opening the car side door 4.
