PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanofiber production apparatus capable of producing a larger amount of nanofibers having high quality and containing little lumps of a polymer material in the fibers, and production method. SOLUTION: A charging electrode 3 is placed opposite to a container 2. A raw material F is electrostatically charged with electric charges induced in the container 2 by the charging electrode 3 and released into air. A fibrous material F1 is formed from the released raw material by electrostatic drawing phenomenon and collected by a collector 12. A collection electrode 18 is placed above the collector 12.
