<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll fluid machine reducing the size and weight and improving operation efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a vertically installed scroll fluid machine (1), a drive shaft (4) with its longitudinal direction disposed in the vertical direction, a driving side scroll unit (8) connected to an eccentric shaft (6) at one end of the drive shaft (4) for generating a driving force, a driven side scroll unit (12) connected to an eccentric shaft (10) at the other end of the driving shaft (4) to which the driving force generated in the driving side scroll unit (8) is transmitted, and a balance weight (108) supported by the drive shaft (4), are stored in an air-tight container (2). The eccentric shafts at the one end and the other end are set eccentric to the same phase in the rotational direction of the drive shaft, one balance weight is provided, and the center of gravity of the balance weight is positioned at a phase shifted by 180° in the rotational direction of the drive shaft from the phase of the eccentric shaft parts at the one end and the other end.
