<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus reduced in the work load of a user when deciding a secondary transfer voltage for obtaining an image quality desired by the user in a specific paper used for a specific aim by the user, other than a regular paper. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A first secondary transfer voltage range, where a current in a secondary transfer current range previously decided as the range of a second transfer current capable of obtaining excellent image quality flows, is obtained in the specific paper, the obtained first secondary transfer voltage range is compared with a second secondary transfer voltage range previously set as a manually settable range, and a third secondary transfer voltage range which can be set when a test print is performed, which is the range not exceeding the second secondary transfer voltage range is decided according to the comparison result. Further, the various settings and execution request of the test print and the setting of the secondary transfer voltage of the specific paper specified by the user based on the result of the test print can be performed on one and the same screen of an operation panel.
