<p>Disclosed is a chronic progressive Alzheimer's disease (AD) model animal which is adapted to the characteristics of AD of which disease conditions progress slowly, i.e., an AD model animal in which the concentration of amyloid-ß protein (Aß) (which is one of a causal substances of Alzheimer's disease) in the brain is increased continuously. Specifically disclosed is an AD model animal characterized in that the concentration of Aß in the brain is increased continuously, which is produced by administering quinolinic acid, glutamic acid, a salt or derivative of quinolinic acid or glutamic acid or a mixture of quinolinic acid, glutamic acid or the salt or derivative to the brain of a mammal such as a mouse, a guinea pig, a rabbit, a canine, a feline, a monkey, a bovine, a horse, a pig, a sheep and a goat.</p> |
