<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve calculation accuracy of air volume led to flow into an engine combustion chamber by appropriately compensating an error in a throttle opening area caused by an error in attachment of a throttle opening sensor including carbon adhesion, an error in the product individual of a throttle valve, and so on. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Intake pressure upstream of the throttle valve arranged in the intake passage of an internal combustion engine is estimated. The opening area learning additional value of the throttle valve is acquired based on a difference between the estimated upstream intake pressure and atmospheric pressure.
