<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect communication information and configuration information and automatically create a system configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The configuration monitoring system is provided other than a plurality of management object servers 201 with a configuration information collecting function which collects the configuration information of a self server and a communication management processing function which collects the communication information of the communications done by the self server. When the configuration information and the communication information received from the management object server are compared with the configuration information and the communication information stored in a configuration information database 106 and a communication information database 107 and found to be updated, the system configuration management server 101 updates the configuration information and the communication information in the configuration information database 106 and the communication information database 107, draws an arrow line with a size corresponding to the communication amount among each management object server displayed as icons, and displays the line on a display part.
