PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an arbitrary wavelength to an arbitrary output port by furnishing a plurality of input ports and a plurality of output ports. SOLUTION: The wavelength selection switch comprises: N input fibers 101 to which a wavelength multiplexed optical signal is inputted; a wavelength dispersion element 104 which emits the light emitted from the input fibers 101 by separating the light according to respective wavelengths M; an MEMS substrate 106a provided with N×M micromirrors 107 corresponding to the number (M) of light beams which are separated by the input fibers 101 and the wavelength dispersion element 104, and freely vary the reflection angle of the incident light beams, which are dispersed with the wavelength dispersion element 104; and an MEMS substrate 106b provided with micromirrors 107 of the same number N×M as the MEMS substrate 106a, and freely varying the angle to output the light from an output port 102 which selected the light reflected on the MEMS substrate 106a.
